Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the EHS personnel identified in the Organization Chart as directed in Interplex policies.
  • Lead site to ensure effective execution of EHS management system to which the site is certified,
  • training, audits/inspections, projects, legal permits, agency communication and corporate reporting.
  • Provide recommendations to site management on changes to improve current programs, policies,
  • personnel, and/or measurements.
  • Proactively identify, plan and develop solutions to EHS issues and establish improvement
  • strategies for both short and long-term goals.
  • Communicate goals to site personnel and provide feedback on performance. When performance
  • is not meeting goals, investigate root cause and implement corrective action(s).
  • Oversee all EHS projects from concept to inception and through to execution of the project plan.
  • Align or develop EHS programs to support the addition of new products, services, or technology.
  • Identify opportunities to implement Green Initiatives that protect the environment, ensure site
  • social responsibility, and reduce waste streams and costs.
  • Ensure all EHS process changes follow the ECR process and are documented.
  • Continually develop EHS knowledge and competency by participating in state and federal level
  • EHS activities such as webinars, training events, and national emphasis programs.
  • Facilitate monthly safety committee meetings and record / publish meeting minutes.
  • Establish task list with owners and due dates and follow up to ensure timely completion.
  • Present reports on EHS program to site management and corporate as required.
  • Maintain regular and satisfactory attendance.
  • Perform all other duties to include outside of normal work hours as required


  • Bachelor's degree in science or engineering.
  • Knowledge of state and federal EHS regulations and experience working with regulations.
  • Minimum 7 years management experience of which at least 5 years were in leading a site on all EHS relevant topics.
  • Knowledge of industry, ISO 14001 and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Mfg. and Six Sigma required.
  • Risk management and behavior-based safety experience required.
  • Positive professional approach while being cooperative and able to work individually or in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated team building and leadership skills.
  • Highly organized and attentive to detail.
  • Effective listening and communication skills, both oral and written with ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions, and interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Effective time management skills with ability to prioritize work and multi-task when required.
  • Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel.

The hourly rate for this position is anticipated between $55.00 - $60.00 per hour. This range is a good-faith estimate, based on the shift you work and other considerations permitted by law.
