Staff Management is looking for a Repair Rework Welder in the Humboldt, TN area. This position performs a rework and salvage operation on the various axle housings, weldments, and components. Requires the use of gas metal arc welding (GMAW) and air arc equipment, a Hydro-Tel Mill, Sidney lathe, radial drill, expander, core drill, tap disintegrator, and Magnaglow equipment. Job Responsibilities

  • Performs a rework and salvage operation on the various axle housings, weldments, and components. Requires the use of gas metal arc welding and air arc equipment, a Hydro-Tel Mill, Sidney lathe, radial drill, expander, core drill, tap disintegrator, and Magnaglow equipment.
  • Follows specified rework procedures established by Quality Control, Product Engineering, and Plant Engineering Departments
  • Requires interpretation of detailed instructions and procedures, including process prints and blueprints, to determine dimensions, operating sequences, and required tooling and method.
  • Changes perishable tooling and welding wire as required.
  • Adjust machine settings and welding parameters as necessary to maintain quality.
  • Uses a lift truck to transport parts and materials.
  • Performs 100% the evaluation and disposition of material prior to rework operation, identification of reworked material according to specified procedures, and gauging to maintain rework quality. 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Detects and reports faulty operation of equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to the assigned supervisor.
  • Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Observes prescribed safety regulations, gauging frequencies, and other standards of operation and conduct.
  • Performs duties of in-line welder, including but not limited to welding an internal cover weld on various weldments, inspection of all prior welds on the product, and repair welding in line as needed.
  • Complete all required paperwork.
  • Practice safety at all times.
  • Performs other related duties as directed by assigned supervisor.
  • Must be able to stand for an 8-12 hour shift.
  • Must be able to push/pull with a force of up to 65 pounds.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, 50 pounds occasionally.
  • MIG Welding experience is required. Associate must pass the weld test.

Associate Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED

  • Must be at least 18 years old

The hourly rate for this position is anticipated between $22.30 - $22.30 per hour. This range is a good-faith estimate, based on the shift you work and other considerations permitted by law.
