Description
The Load Zone Supervisor oversees day-to-day operations within designated vehicle loading and unloading zones at FIFA World Cup 2026 venues in Kansas City.
These zones support transport services for spectators, workforce members, ADA passengers, and FIFA client group shuttles. The supervisor ensures that vehicle movements are safe, timely, and well-coordinated, minimizing congestion while maximizing safety and operational efficiency.
This role requires strong operational leadership, communication skills, and the ability to manage transport operations in busy and time-sensitive environments.

Job Responsibilities
Load Zone Operations Management
- Oversee live operations within assigned vehicle load zones, ensuring orderly arrivals and departures.
Passenger Flow Management
- Manage safe passenger loading and unloading while maintaining effective crowd movement and queue control.
Team Supervision
- Supervise load zone staff including marshals, ADA assistants, and directional support personnel.
Operational Communication
- Maintain continuous communication with bus dispatch teams, staging areas, and the Transport Operations Centre (TOC).
Vehicle Flow Management
- Enforce vehicle assignments, dwell time limits, and load zone traffic flow schedules.
Operational Issue Resolution
- Respond quickly to operational challenges such as vehicle delays, passenger surges, congestion, or medical incidents.
Accessibility Services Coordination
- Ensure ADA-accessible vehicles and mobility assistance services are properly deployed and managed.
Infrastructure Monitoring
- Monitor signage, barriers, queue systems, and operational infrastructure to maintain a safe and functional environment.
Operational Reporting
- Log vehicle movements, passenger volumes, occupancy trends, and service issues for daily operational reports.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Maintain communication with Venue Security, Traffic Management teams, Last Mile operations, and other transport partners to ensure coordinated movement.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Outdoor operational role located at active load zones near FIFA venues.
- Work will take place in various weather conditions.
- Long operational shifts during match days, training days, and event preparation periods.
- Required to wear high-visibility PPE and follow all safety procedures.
- Frequent interaction with large international spectator crowds and operational teams.
PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT:
- Be professional during operational briefings and stakeholder interactions.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with drivers, staff, and operational partners.
- Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of operational activities.
- Demonstrate leadership, calm decision-making, and professionalism during high-pressure event operations.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Strong understanding of bus and shuttle transport logistics in high-volume environments.
- Familiarity with load zone safety procedures, vehicle movement protocols, and passenger flow management.
- Strong leadership skills when supervising teams in dynamic operational environments.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills when working with staff and the public.
- Basic knowledge of ADA accessibility requirements and inclusive service standards.
- Experience using two-way radios and transport coordination systems.
- Awareness of emergency response procedures and escalation protocols.
- Previous experience working at large-scale events, stadiums, or transport hubs is highly desirable.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in transport operations, logistics coordination, or event mobility management.
- Combination of relevant education and professional experience in transport operations or logistics.
- Previous experience supporting large-scale public events or high-volume transport operations is preferred.
- Fluency in English is required; multilingual or bilingual ability is considered an advantage.
- Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and match days (May-July 2026).
