Looking for a new opportunity? Staff Management | SMX is seeking a Warehouse Team Lead! This position has the following responsibilities:

  • Setting the daily shift schedule on which machines the operators will work.
  • Break and lunch schedules throughout the shift.
  • Relieving operators for personal or bathroom breaks.

In addition, the Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for 5S: Execute the 5'S plan throughout the production shift and mentor subordinates; Evaluate the 5'S condition daily by observing the process area and follow-up on abnormalities. (Target = 1 audit per day); Complete any 5'S documentation and records as required by the 5'S plan

  • SORT - (ORDERLINESS) - Remove unneeded items from the area
  • STABILIZE - (ORGANIZE) - A place for everything and everything in its place
  • SHINE - (CLEANLINESS) - Clean machines, mop floor, and wipe down area
  • STANDARDIZE - (CREATE RULES) - Monitor and maintain the first 3'S
  • SUSTAIN - (SELF-DISCIPLINE) - The correct 5'S procedures become habitual

The pay will be $19.00 per hour.

  • The position is for C Crew
  • Friday & Saturday 5:30 am - 5:00 pm
  • Sunday & Monday 5:30 pm - 5:00 am

This is a temp to perm position with a probationary period of 90 calendar days. This is a union facility, once you complete your 90 day probationary period, you will be converted to full time and a union member.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ergonomics: Evaluation of physical effects of the work procedures, station layout, tools and equipment for operators. Identify abnormalities and countermeasure to reduce burden on the operators.
  • Personally observe operator's techniques as they perform the job functions.
  • Improve the techniques/methods of awkward, or excessive movements in order to minimize physical burdens.
  • Support job rotation to allow for variety of functions utilizing different muscle groups.
  • Initiate any problem resolution activities necessary to resolve ergonomic concerns
  • Report any/all injuries or pains to the Molding Supervisor
  • Coach "wellness" habits
  • Quality Focused Activities
  • Look for defects from previous processes and alerting the proper personnel.
  • Follow the designed method of proper response/follow-up procedure for operators.
  • Perform Middle of Shift and End of Shift Quality Inspections and record as required.
  • Job Instruction Training: Train individuals using "learn and use" coaching methods. Use the Standardized Work "major steps", separate into smaller portions, teach the "steps", practice and then use the knowledge. Ensure the trainee has a resource for assistance until he/she has mastered the job.
  • Follow the 20/20/20 JIT (Job Instruction Training) method for training Colleagues
  • Train, coach, and mentor operators on Standardized Work off line and on line.
  • Complete required paper work such as production record charts, quality information and logbook for shift-to-shift communication.

  • Responsible for directing rework.
  • Update Scoreboard daily with data and reports provided for each Key Measurable.
  • Hold daily pre-shift meetings with team at Scoreboard to foster communication and Team Pride.
  • Message Board (Andon) management
  • Development of Team Members
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be a product expert.
  • Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail.
  • Enthusiasm for challenge and new initiatives are prerequisites.
  • Must have great attitude and ability to motivate team members.
  • Supervisory and interpersonal skills are required
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills
  • Good attendance is critical.
  • Good computer skills

Working Conditions

  • Physical ability to lift 25lbs.
  • Overtime as required.
