Job Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot all mechanical and pneumatic equipment problems.
- Perform root-cause analysis to diagnose, repair and implement permanent solutions to equipment failures.
- Perform and direct set-up and adjustments of equipment to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement that reduces operating costs.
- Cleans and lubricates machinery and equipment following preventive maintenance schedules.
- Utilizes troubleshooting skills and techniques on packaging equipment to detect malfunctions.
- Disassembles, diagnoses, and rebuilds equipment components, valves, and pumps during routine maintenance.
- Discusses machine operation variations with supervisors to diagnose problems and repairs of machine.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement changes.
- Develop improved changeover systems and champion improvements.
- Understand and demonstrate safe work practices at all times. Must stay focused on maintaining a safe work environment.
- Demonstrate high levels of good housekeeping practices to promote a safe work environment.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
Required Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Able to use basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds up to 40 inches from the floor.
- Able to function with a high degree of manual dexterity to assemble or repair precision equipment.
- Able to read and operate digital and dial scales.
- Able to stoop, bend, and climb.
- Able to operate material handling equipment including forklifts.
- Able to push/pull carts that may have loads exceeding 200 pounds.
