Job Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot all mechanical and pneumatic equipment problems.
• Perform root-cause analysis to diagnose, repair and implement permanent solutions to equipment failures.
• Perform and direct set-up and adjustments of equipment to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement that reduces operating costs.
• Cleans and lubricates machinery and equipment following preventive maintenance schedules.
• Utilizes troubleshooting skills and techniques on packaging equipment to detect malfunctions.
• Disassembles, diagnoses, and rebuilds equipment components, valves, and pumps during routine maintenance.
• Discusses machine operation variations with supervisors to diagnose problems and repairs of machine.
• Develop and implement continuous improvement changes.
• Develop improved changeover systems and champion improvements.
• Understand and demonstrate safe work practices at all times. Must stay focused on maintaining a safe work environment.
• Demonstrate high levels of good housekeeping practices to promote a safe work environment.
• Comply with all Company policies and procedures.

Required Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Able to use basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. 
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds up to 40 inches from the floor.
• Able to function with a high degree of manual dexterity to assemble or repair precision equipment.
• Able to read and operate digital and dial scales.
• Able to stoop, bend, and climb.
• Able to operate material handling equipment including forklifts.
• Able to push/pull carts that may have loads exceeding 200 pounds.
