Staff Management |SMX is currently in search of an Advanced Maintenance Technician for our client, a well-established manufacturing company located in Hammond, IN. As an Advanced Maintenance Tech, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing various mechanical equipment and machinery within the facility. Your responsibilities will involve diagnosing mechanical problems, performing repairs, and conducting preventive maintenance to ensure efficient and safe operations. Your expertise in mechanical systems, hydraulics, power transmission, welding, and basic electricity will be essential to successfully execute the duties of this role. The role will work a Rotating Schedule as follows:

  • 7 days - 11 pm - 7 am - $.50 per hour shift premium
  • 1 day off
  • 7 days - 3 pm - 11 pm - $.40 per hour shift premium
  • 2 days off
  • 7 days - 7 am - 3 pm - no shift premium
  • 4 days off - then repeat.

Job Responsibilities

  • Accurately diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues as they arise.
  • Repair and maintain machinery and equipment, including production machines, conveyor systems, hydraulics, power transmissions, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Perform visual inspections and preventive maintenance on machines and equipment.
  • Utilize welding skills to repair equipment and machinery.
  • Refer to blueprints, diagrams, and service manuals to identify and fix broken parts, adjust mechanical components, and dismantle machines to access problem areas.
  • Work on air and hydraulic pipes by measuring, cutting, threading, and installing new pipes on machines.
  • Actively support and participate in continuous improvement processes.
  • Complete any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including expertise in hydraulics, power transmission, welding, and basic electricity.
  • Demonstrated skills in industrial mechanical maintenance and repair within a general plant production environment.

The hourly rate for this position is anticipated between $33.26 - $33.26 per hour. This range is a good-faith estimate, based on the shift you work and other considerations permitted by law.
